I just got the PRIVILEGE to hold this little guy... I.J.W born yesterday! What a handsome little fella... Congrats C&Z he is definitely a keeper!
We are currently enjoying the sunshine and our kiddos... they are so much fun and I can't believe how big they are growing... especially after holding such a little one... time is flying so fast! I pray that I can not take this time for granted but cherish it and savor every moment!
Me and my little angel what a doll she is! She is such a good little "momma" to Mbaby... she is such a blessing!
what a little man...
SERIOUSLY how can you say no to a face like that?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Typical scene at our house... L2 playing and Mbaby giving me these VERY handsome smiles every time he looks at me... LOVE it!
My baby boy... He's just so huggable!
If I would name or put my style of cooking in a category it would be: In-promptu. I can never really follow a recipe ... for some reason the commitment scares me! I am not a planner... I try to be but... it just doesn't work for me (those close to me know what I mean:-). So my kitchen is no different and typically I cook on a whim and like my husband likes to "fly by the seat of his pants" most of the time... I do too when it comes to food:-) I guess we make a good pair!

Tonight's craving: Fish and chips
What I had on hand: Fish, sparkling water, Sake, and spelt flour
No potatoes... but HEY I have Asparagus! (light bulb) Asparagus fries!
So though my fish was ruined by the fact that it was previously frozen... which is gross to me (don't know why I bought it!) The asparagus revolution was AWESOME!
So here we go the recipe for those of you who read my blog:
flour of your choice-roughly 2c.
Sparkling water which is 12oz can + sake to round out 2c.
(typically beer is used so if you have that it'd work too... )
1 scoop baking pwd
Salt and pepper
Mix and let set while you wash and dry the Asparagus... Heat oil in pot
Dip asparagus in batter and fry a good handful at a time... till lightly golden
Drain on paper towel over a baking rack and sprinkle with sea salt
(keep warm in oven at 200 degrees)
YUMMMMY!
Great alone or with hummus or with a yummy aioli of choice:-)

Oh ... Happy Day!

I never know exactly what I'll find my 2yr old looking like each time I look at her throughout the day... one moment she is a panda ... A cute one at that!
and I never know what this little man will be doing or getting into either...
Here's a classic... She dressed herself this day... socks and all. Then I heard her in our side board thing... I walk around the corner and she has C's ear plugs in! haha what a nut:-) good thing I love nuts!
These two are 2 peas in a pod... I love this expression on both their faces... l2 is on the edge of being sweet and scary and Mbaby just along for the ride.
So today was the most PERFECT day ever! The weather was/ is GORGEOUS! Had a nice walk and met a couple of moms and kiddos for a picnic at the park... Did some spring cleaning... kiddos took great naps... Then dinner time came. I was SUPER tired and too lazy to cook up anything... and my fridge is mostly empty... So trying to impress my hubby with my desire to be frugal ... I opted to round up some ingredients and make do with what we had instead of asking to go out to eat... here's what came out:
Don't know exactly what to call 'em but their a Southwestern inspire Crepe:
With a roasted red pepper sauce, corn and avocado with a sprig of cilantro...
TADAA!
Stuffed crepe with taco meat(spiced with homemade taco seasoning which is key), smoked gouda, regular gouda, and swiss cheeses...
A date at home...
the perfect meal to round out the Perfect day!
YUMMMMMY!
Enjoy the weather, family and friends... PEOPLE SPRING IS HERE!!! PRAISE GOD!

Home again!

C was in China for 8 LOOOOOOONG days! We are so happy to have him home!
Some china memorabilia almost HAS to include:

Some bling bling
(i removed almost have of the bling bling that was hanging off it!)
and PANDA LOVE!

Many conversations with L2 are hilarious and I find myself wanting to write them down! Here's one example just today....

L2: "where are the carDAnals (cardinals) mom?"

Me: "I Don't know ducky...where are they?"

L2: "look right here on the picture!" while holding up a white water ballon

Me: "um... okay?.... maybe we should have daddy drawl us a cardinal, wouldn't that be nice?"

L2: "No... he's workin' sweetie."

Oh my...

And she has been into relating things like if you are getting dressed she'll compliment you by saying something she thinks is a good thing like:

"Mom... you look just like a giraffe!" - with eyes bright and smiling... she really means it as a compliment. Me not so sure. haha

Love these days in the life of a 2yr old! O how I love you sweetie!
Mbaby is hauling across the room and house like a wild man... if he's laying down in the morning cuddling he gets these random surges of testosterone and flaps his arms as if he's ready for take off. He now pulls himself up on anything he can get his hands on and is starting to inch his way around things like our coffee table... the sofa and such! O my... he's only just 7months! He's still pretty thick weighing in at 17.5lbs:-D I love my healthy little bug.

Enjoy your weekend!

L1

Just for Laughs

Let's just say... that while the hubby was away... we got to play:-D

Sending C these pics probably made him scared to come home! I had to actually look in the mirror then to see what I really looked like! Who knew Photobooth would be such a hoot!
Welcome Home babe!
